Okazaki Civic Plaza, a facility in the newly developed core district of Okazaki city center, integrates Government Office Building and the Civic Center. The facility was constructed with the objectives of creating a vigorous city center, reinforcing local community functions, and developing an eco-friendly urban environment. Naming of "Okazaki Civic Plaza"
The name of the facility was selected from among 1,462 entries submitted in a public naming competition. "Okazaki Civic Plaza," submitted by Mr. Seizo Takanami, from Taketoyo Town, Chita County, Aichi Prefecture, was selected, since it imparts the image of the new facility, and its aim of promoting friendly exchange among citizens.
