New TV catvMICS (1F) has begun digital broadcasting service,
in addition to conventional, analog broadcasting and cable internet
services. In BS digital broadcasting service, commenced in Japan
in December 2000, catvMICS provides 10-channel TV broadcast, as
well as data and speech broadcast services. BS digital service,
mainly comprising HDTV broadcasts, features extremely crisp images,
with program-related information available while watching TV. catvMICS
plans to provide CS digital broadcast service, which is scheduled
to commence in the spring of 2002.
